Monica Escamilla is an editorial and commercial photographer based in New York.
Documenting the moments she didn’t want to forget, photography turned into a way for Monica to connect with herself and with others.
When she’s not taking pictures, you can find her on a run, exploring the best chinatown cuisine, or palling around with her dog, Rockie.
Her photographic work has been exhibited in the Virginia and DC area as well as internationally at the Tasmeem Artist Conference in Doha, Qatar. She has received several Virginia Press Awards for her work in editorial portraiture.
She was awarded the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fellowship in Photography and holds a Bachelor of Fine Art in Photography from Virginia Commonwealth University.
